Welcome to the Army Apprentice National Memorial website

A big thank you to all who donated to the Appeal. It has reached a total of just over £105,000, so all costs are now covered. The last major payment has now been made and this has enabled the Donation Appeal to be closed.

A small Dedication Ceremony will be held on Sunday the 9th September 2012, at the Army Apprentice National Memorial, at the NMA

This is to dedicate the new lecturn and the final thirty commemorative tablets. Details and times will follow shortly.

On the evening of the 8th September, a dinner will be held in the Menzies Hotel, Littleover, Derby. If it is your intention to attend the dedication ceremony you may wish to book into this hotel, spend a relaxing evening with other ex-A/Ts and then go to the ceremony at the NMA the next morning, at a leisurely pace. Details for booking the dinner are noted in the March 2012 NEWS page here.

The photo on the right is a mock-up of the new lecturn. It carries a short explanation of the Army Apprentice scheme as it was for most of the Twentieth century. It is expected to be erected on site before July 2012.
